John 13:4

He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.

Jesus was in the midst of his work on earth, the only begotten of The Father. After feasting and fellowship, he arose and wrapped a towel around him, and began to wash the disciples feet.

His death that followed was much the same. He laid aside his power, his glory, his majesty, and arose from the grave. He went to prepare a place for us, not just in the eternal future and life to come, but by sending Holy to help us along the way.

John 14:14

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
